The Arizona Mountaineering Club was founded in 1964 for the purpose of promoting and teaching safe rock climbing. Today the AMC has over 300 members who are involved in all aspects of rock climbing, mountaineering and various other outdoor sports. We are a fun group of experienced hikers, canyoneers and climbers who welcome others who enjoy difficult 5+ mile trails at a fast pace. This is NOT A BEGINNER hiking group - we do Camelback and/or Piestewa Peak during the week for workouts to train for our longer weekend hikes.
